One of my dreams was to one day travel to Europe with my Mum. My partner and I had planned a trip to Turkey and Mum called us to see if she could travel with us. Now Mum and I are heading off on this amazing trip together, prior to meeting my partner in Turkey, and I know it's something we will all cherish. Look out Europe!!

I was sitting in the behind business and they were mocking me with those lay down Sally beds. When I checked in at Melbourne airport I tried to old upgrade butno such luck. I was in the second row and the first row seeated two babies &a toddler!!! I had these quick arse heeadphones on and I found out its quite easy to sleep with on to drown out the screams!!! I saw a few parents with smelly little bottles of syrup ready to dose thoose little darlings up!!Im at the airport on the free internet and have just watched the sunrise. I have another twoo hours to wait for my flight to Paris. Mum, I hope you are navigating your way around Heathrow ok. See ya in Gay Paris
Hi Everyone; sorry it's taken a while to update you but we are both safe and well & we haven't stopped. I'm updating the blog from Avignon in our hotel on the free Wi Fi & the french keyboard is a challenge!! You wouldn't believe it but I made it in to Paris before Mum. We had a plan that Mum would meet me at the Sheraton Hotel as she got in early. I arrived and I was so excited & then I couldn't find her. I made my way back to the arrivals hall & we found each other. Mum was delayed by about 6 hours at Heathrow. We got the train from the airport & then jumped on the metro & it seemed like we dragged our bags 3kms to get to the platform. It was very funny as it was peak hour & the french are sprinting home on a Friday night. They should play AFL with all the bumping going on. A lovely young woman told us that we need to move to the right of the escaltor as we were holding everyone up!! Out hotel in Paris was lovely and so central & our petit room was delightful. Let's just say Mum & I got to know each other intimately. On our first night our lady at the hotel suggested a cafe for dinner down near the Seine where we enjoyed an excellent deli platter (meats & cheese) and then we were home in bed by 9.30pm.
Day 2- We headed of and it was overcast & very cold & we fully kitted out with jackets & scarves. DC, thanks for your emails with those extra recomendations. We were already having Petit Dejenuer(bfast) at the Boulangerie and we loved our pastries & we voted it the best coffee in Paris. We headed of to a lovely Marche(market) near Hotel De Ville and I chap tried to tell us that he had the best lamb ever, only fed by its mothers milk!! We sampled so lovely cheese and admired the chickens that were being cooked with potatoes & garlic yum. We went via Notre Dame and already at & 10.00am the que was a couple of kms long perhaps a 2hr wait. So we decided to go on a recomendation from my friend Mel told us that we have to try the "best crepe" in Paris. Mel indicated it was a short stroll from Notre Dame. We went via the Pantheon & for the newly arrived tourist's it took us about 3hrs to reach with the help of our lovely man we met on the street to arrive at "Au Petit grec" and it was wonderful & the place was packed while everyone qued up while chomping down on our savoury galettes. We wandered around streets in rain & saw a wedding with the wedding car that a wreath of flowers on the bonnet it was very strange. By this time we stopped at a great cafe for coffee and I had angel food cake served in a jar and it was delicous. We headed to Jardin Luxemburg were we strolled some more & saw the best tulips ever. Grant, I think I have the money shot of these tulips with rain drops on them. We have walked so much & thank god as we need to walk of all these delights!!! On our way back to our hotel we stumbled on the Croix Rouge Francaise(Red Cross France). We are staying in the Marais & the shops & cafes are quite groovy. We didn't pick a great cafe tonight as the food was very average but we did have a good laugh. Well I hope you are all well & I will update again soon. Avignon awaits as it's going to be 23 today & its lovely & sunny. We pick up our car today yipes!!!

çok aç, fame, morto di fame, privation de nourriture, that is starving in Turkish, Greek, Italian and French. Yes we, your enraptured readers, have been left starving for news on this blog!! Do we have to engage the Turkish Red Crescent to conduct a health and welfare check on you? Nah, you are just too busy having a great time. This defeaning silence; you know what they say in academia Frau - publish or perish!!!!
